Journeys by Design is where it all started. Back in 2016, the JbD team founded Wild Philanthropy with a vision to better support Africa through travel. Now brought under the Africa House Group, which also includes the newest addition, Tekula Captial, we are proud to pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a tour operator.
Journeys by Design is a leading African travel specialist, focusing on delivering some of the best safari experiences on the market. Not only the best, but also the most responsible. JbD has, throughout it’s 20+ years, adapted to a changing market for African travel, but it’s mission to make a difference in Africa through travel has remained at its core.
JbD supports Wild Philanthropy in 4 key ways:
- Friends of Wild Philanthropy – working with a small group of conscientious adventure travellers JbD offers unique donor-travel opportunities that connect donor to landscape. Friends donate $20,000 per annum to Wild Philanthropy, effectively covering the organisational operating costs
- Rare – JbD offers unique off-google travel experiences at the top end of its portfolio. These travel projects include a $5,000 contribution to Wild Philanthropy, which is distributed to conservation and community development projects related to the trip.
- 1% for the Planet – JbD is a member of 1% for the Planet, and has committed to donating 1% of its revenue to Wild Philanthropy
- Ad-hoc donation – JbD encourages all travellers to support Wild Philanthropy. Wild Philanthropy works with JbD to suggest projects that traveller can support that link to their travel
