A zoologist by training, Paul Herbertson is Wild Philanthropy’s CEO. Over the past decade Paul has focused on how business can drive positive social and environmental impact.
Paul started his career leading expeditions into Ecuador’s remote lowland Amazon. Later, he went on to advise on sustainable business in Ecuador and Indonesia before returning to the UK to assess socioeconomic benefits for a UK National Park. Paul then joined Fauna & Flora International in 2006, where he spent 11 years focusing on emerging environmental markets, impact investment and the wider conservation and business nexus.
Paul joined Wild Philanthropy in 2017 to direct the charity’s conservation finance and enterprise work and assist with its business planning, strategy, development and fundraising. It 2019 Paul took over as CEO, working closely with Will Jones to develop the next stages of the organisations evolution.
As well as a BSc from Cardiff University, he has an MBA from Cambridge and an MSc from King’s College London. Paul is also a Fellow of both the Royal Geographical Society and the Zoology Society of London.
