A quick note to say that we have published our latest impact report.
As I say in its address, getting this out was delayed by Covid and addressing the crises perpetuated by the pandemic. While not ideal, more than a silver lining: reporting across three years really gives a good feel for the different types and scales of projects supported. You’ll see what I mean when you get a moment to read through the (short) report, which highlights five projects and gives a summary of grants made between 2021 and 2023.
In the meantime, compare, for example, the single donation made to the wonderful Elephant Protection Initiative’s African Journalism Fund with the multiple donations to the equally wonderful Chem Chem Association. The former is designed to enable local storytelling on human-elephant conflict by journalists in three different countries and areas where not much mitigation work has taken place. The latter supports a range of projects that build on early and highly successful human-animal conflict mitigation projects. Different stages in the conversation journey and different scales.
I’ll leave you to have read of the report yourself. And when you have, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, queries, and comments. Alternatively, feel free to donate either directly to a particular live project or generally – 100% of your donation goes directly to supporting on-the-ground organisations.
Once you’ve had a read, do spend a moment going through the site. If you would like to learn more or to help, please get in touch with Paul Herbertson. Images courtesy Dorobo Fund and Enonkishu Conservancy.
